The GUT Centre is a new model for digestive and liver care, bringing hospital affiliated specialists, advanced procedures and modern facilities together in a community clinic. Our strong connections between clinic and hospital care create greater continuity for patients and a clear, coordinated care pathway for referring physicians.

Dr. Mosko is a staff gastroenterologist at St. Michael's Hospital with expertise in advanced endoscopy and therapeutic GI procedures. He has held multiple leadership positions within the Canadian GI community.

Dr. Bookman is an experienced gastroenterologist with broad expertise in GI and a specialized interest in colon cancer screening and prevention, for which he started the charity Bumrun. He has held numerous leadership roles within the GI community and is widely recognized for his excellence in the delivery of care – combining deep clinic knowledge with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.

Dr. Elfassy is Head of the Department of Gastroenterology at St. Joseph's Health Centre, specializing in endoscopy, IBD, and a broad spectrum of GI disorders. He combines academic rigour with a compassionate approach to complex and chronic digestive conditions.
Hepatologist
Dr. Hamdan Perez is a hepatology-trained specialist with advanced training at the Toronto General Liver Clinic. She brings deep expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex liver disease to The GUT Centre team.

Dr. Wang is a gastroenterologist with specialized expertise in GI nutrition. He provides integrated dietary and nutritional support for patients with IBD, celiac disease, and a broad range of digestive disorders.

Dr. Springer is a gastroenterologist with advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy and previously served as Head of Gastroenterology at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. He brings broad expertise in gastrointestinal disorders and complex endoscopic procedures, with a focus on safe, efficient patient care.

Dr. Anvari is a gastroenterologist at St. Joseph’s Health Centre specializing in inflammatory bowel disease. She completed an advanced IBD fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and provides comprehensive, person-centred care across IBD, endoscopy, and a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions.

Dr. Halder is a gastroenterologist specializing in inflammatory bowel disease, with advanced training and extensive clinical and research experience. She is Associate Professor of Gastroenterology and Vice Dean, Clinical Faculty Affairs at Toronto Metropolitan University, bringing deep expertise and a compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.

Dr. Post is a gastroenterologist with specialized expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and intestinal ultrasound. With advanced fellowship training and a strong background in IBD research, she brings a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal conditions.

We are now accepting referrals ahead of our 2026 opening. Every patient is triaged quickly and matched to the right level of care based on urgency and clinical need, with timely communication back to the referring physician throughout.
