The GUT Centre is a new, state-of-the-art gastroenterology and endoscopic care clinic launching in Toronto. Our mission is to provide the full spectrum of patient-centred GI care — exceptional, safe, efficient, and tailored to the modern needs of every patient we serve.
Founded by experienced gastroenterologists with active academic hospital practices at St. Joseph's Health Centre and St. Michael's Hospital, we bring teaching-hospital expertise to a modern community clinic setting.
Our clinic is designed around the patient experience — reducing wait times, maximising access to specialist care, and delivering it all in a welcoming, purpose-built environment in Toronto's vibrant west end.
Our Physicians
Our founding physicians bring decades of combined clinical, academic, and research experience — united by a commitment to better GI care for Toronto patients. Additional gastroenterologists and specialized surgeons will also be working from The GUT Centre.
Gastroenterologist · Co-Founder
Dr. Mosko is a staff gastroenterologist at St. Michael's Hospital with expertise in advanced endoscopy and therapeutic GI procedures. He has held multiple leadership positions within the Canadian GI community.

Dr. Bookman is an experienced gastroenterologist with broad expertise in GI, hepatology, endoscopy, and digestive diseases. He has held numerous leadership roles within the GI community and is widely recognised for his excellence in the delivery of care — combining deep clinical knowledge with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.
Gastroenterologist · Co-Founder
Dr. Elfassy is Head of the Department of Gastroenterology at St. Joseph's Health Centre, specialising in endoscopy, IBD, and a broad spectrum of GI disorders. He combines academic rigour with a compassionate approach to complex and chronic digestive conditions.
Hepatologist
Dr. Hamdan Perez is a hepatology-trained specialist with advanced training at the Toronto General Liver Clinic. She brings deep expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex liver disease to The GUT Centre team.
Gastroenterologist · Nutrition
Dr. Wang is a gastroenterologist with specialised expertise in GI nutrition. He provides integrated dietary and nutritional support for patients with IBD, celiac disease, and a broad range of digestive disorders.

We are accepting referrals ahead of our summer 2026 opening. All referred patients are triaged promptly — directed to our Sterling Road clinic or through our hospital practices depending on clinical need and urgency.
Our goal is to ensure every patient reaches the right level of care, at the right time, with minimal wait and maximum communication back to you.
